Neurological EEG

When interpreting QEEGs it is very important to know what is normal and what is not. When abnormal or neurological brain patterns are seen, it is important to consult a neurologist before any treatment is initiated.

Below an example of a client who was innatentive at school and was suspected for ADD.  The EEG pattern below is suspect and was referred to a neurologist. This might be a 3-per-second spike and wave discharge and could be indicative of an absence seizure, and could thereby explain the inattentive problems of this child since the child might suffer several absence seizures during the day. However, this pattern would require neurological treatment rather then psychiatric or psychological treatment.
